Although there haven’t been a lot of posts about the progress I’ve been making on my psuedo-Bucket List (or a lot of posts, in general), I can assure you I haven’t been sleeping on the job. A few months back I managed to accomplish one of the tasks I had given myself, despite being completely unable to predict when, how or where I would pull this off (given my current physical proximity to most of the people I grew up with): # 30–reconnect with someone from the past.Luckily I didn’t have to work very hard. I was fortunate enough to receive a message from a high school friend saying he’d be in Belgium for a few weeks, and asking for recommendations. I had only one: come to Paris. 🙂
My old pal and former Latin classmate accepted my invitation, along with my suggestion that we bike around Paris for a bit before heading out on the town. Considering his passion (and talent) for photography, he was a willing participant in my excuse to gallivant around the city, and the weather cooperated merrily. We saw a few sites, listened to some sub-par jazz and made conversation over adult beverages.

This picture is an old one and not from Alex’s visit, though we stopped not far from here to have a crêpe a beer 🙂
After he left we realized that we hadn’t taken a photo together to commemorate the experience, but I am happy to report not only an item off the list, but a re-connection worth writing about! Cheers to Sir Alex–the Frog Prince and I look forward to your European return. 🙂

Thanks so much Nikki! As it happens I may be swinging by your location again, and pretty soon! I’m glad to see you’re keeping up with your blog, too. I am subscribed!
Woohoo! Let me know when you have more details – I’d love to catch up again. And it appears there may be another Spaulding grad in Paris in early Oct…
